Alpha Antivirus Removal

Wizard of Oz 70th Anniversary

We're off to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz tomorrow evening and the release of the remastered edition of the film. Shana and I are honored that we have been invited to attend the Warner Brothers 70th anniversary celebration tomorrow evening in New York City. Tavern on the Green will be redecorated to resemble the emerald city and the empire state building will be lit up in green to add to the celebration.

The Wizard of Oz has been utilized in many of my presentations to illustrate the journey that one goes though following a traumatic brain injury. On many occasions I have discussed the meaningful ways that the film has inspired many family members and persons who have sustained a traumatic brain injury.

After all, The Wizard of Oz is a film about traumatic brain injury and the long journey back home that follows.

Here are just some themes and thoughts from the film and its relationship to brain trauma.

The film begins with Dorothy being caught in a tornado and suffering brain injury. When Dorothy finally arrives in Oz she meets up with her social worker and traumatic brain injury case coordinator, Glinda the Good Witch, who advises her that to get back home to Kansas, she needs to meet with the great and powerful neuropsychololgist, the Wizard of Oz at the Emerald City Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program. On her way to Oz, Dorothy meets other individuals suffering from disabilities, (no brain, no heart, no courage). Each one of these individuals is an inspiration to others suffering from a disability. When Dorothy finally reaches Oz, she is initially turned away from receiving the rehabilitation services she so badly needs until she proves that she has sufficient insurance coverage (the ruby slippers) and the correct referral (Glinda the Good Witch).

Emmy Winners 2009 List

The Emmy winners 2009 list includes 21 wins for HBO, 6 for Showtime, and 5 for AMC. NBC, ABC, and FOX all received double-digit Emmy wins as well with 16, 11, and 10 wins, respectively.

Why NBC, ABC, and FOX have so many awards on the Emmy winners 2009 list is beyond me. 30 Rock brought in several awards, which is really surprising considering

there were more deserving shows nominated in each category.

The Emmy winners 2009 list included some surprises and some disappointments. Of my personal disappointments is the fact that Kevin Dillon did not win Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Johnny Drama in HBO's hit series Entourage.

After seeing that the Emmy winners 2009 list would not include Kevin Dillon, I momentarily tuned off from the Emmy awards and tuned in to the newest episode of Entourage on HBO.

Seeing Johnny Drama choose Lloyd Lee as his agent over Ari Gold showed that Kevin Dillon's character is multi-dimensional and has a heart. This cements the fact that Kevin Dillon should have been included on the Emmy winners' 2009 list.

Big Love, House, and Dexter lost Outstanding Drama Series to Mad Men. I was in shock when I found out it was Mad Men who made the Emmy winners 2009 list in lieu of one of the other shows. Until this point, I hadn't ever heard of Mad Men.

On the bright side, two of my favorite stations - HBO and Showtime - won a combined 27 Emmy Awards. 18 actors and actresses from HBO won individual awards, while three HBO shows were included on the Emmy winners 2009 list.

Showtime boasted 6 individual awards. There were no Showtime shows on the Emmy winners 2009 list. This is very disappointing, as shows such as Californication, Weeds, Dexter, and United States of Tara are all very wonderful shows. At least one of these shows should have been on the Emmy Winners 2009 list.

Even though the Emmy winners 2009 list is set in stone, everyone will undoubtedly have their disappointments. In addition to the Emmy winners 2009 list, the best and worst dressed at the Emmys is also an Internet sensation.
